SB3: The Big Bad Bill Trying to Take Away Your Rights (and Your Favorite Hemp Derived Treats!)

Alright, friends, it’s time to talk about something serious—but don’t worry, we’ll keep it light, fun, and full of fire. Texas is at it again, and this time, our beloved hemp-infused goodies are on the chopping block. Yep, we’re talking about Senate Bill 3 (SB3), a sneaky little piece of legislation that’s aiming to limit, restrict, and flat-out ban certain hemp-derived products. If this passes, your access to legal, safe, and effective hemp-infused treats (like our delicious Hiya’s Ballz) could be gone for good- Despite the fact that they are FEDERALLY LEGAL! Like, WTF, Texas!?!

Stop SB3 and keep your rights
Oppose #SB3 and Fight for your Rights

What Is SB3 Trying to Do?

This bill is an attempt to severely restrict the sale and production of hemp-derived cannabinoids, including Delta-8, Delta-9, and other natural compounds that have been federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill. Essentially, lawmakers are claiming they need to “protect” people from these products, despite the fact that responsible adults have been safely enjoying them for years.

If SB3 passes, it could mean:

❌ A complete ban on certain hemp-infused products.

❌ Businesses (like ours) being forced to shut down or change dramatically.

❌ YOU losing your freedom to choose natural alternatives for relaxation, pain relief, and wellness.

Why Should You Care?

Because this isn’t just about hemp—it’s about your right to choose what works for you. The government shouldn’t get to decide what you can or can’t consume, especially when it comes to plant-based wellness options that have already been legalized at the federal level.

On a personal note - I spent over a decade of my life battling chronic pain, headaches, and migraines. in and out of various medical offices and procedures. I had teeth removed, tried glasses, injections, infusions, chiropractic adjustments, saw multiple doctors including neurologists and pain management. Years and years were spent trying multiple prescriptions and procedures and I could not find relief. About 5 years ago I began using CBD and THC and ended up coming off of 8 prescription medications and finding complete relief of my ailments through plant medicine and natural healing modalities. I haven't suffered from a migraine in years and might get a headache once or twice a month compared to the 4/5 days a week that used to be considered normal for me previously. I have a completely different quality of life now, allowing me to live better and healthier, and the government should not be able to take that away from me, or others like me. It's not fair, and it's not right.... I'm going to stop there before I go into a full blown rant...

Oh, and let’s not forget: If SB3 passes, it’s not just bad for consumers—it’s a direct attack on small businesses, farmers, and entrepreneurs who have built their livelihoods around legal hemp products. In Texas alone, the hemp industry has generated over $1 billion in economic impact since the 2018 Farm Bill legalized it. More than 40,000 jobs have been created in the state, spanning agriculture, production, and retail. Local businesses like ours depend on this thriving industry to continue serving customers with natural wellness options.

Additionally, the hemp industry contributes millions in state and federal tax revenue, which benefits schools, public services, and infrastructure. If SB3 passes, it threatens not just these businesses, but the economic ecosystem that supports it, leaving thousands of families, employees, and communities in a difficult position.

What Can You Do?

It’s time to raise hell (peacefully, of course) and let our legislators know that we won’t stand for this overreach.

Here’s how you can take action:

1️⃣ Call or email your representatives – Tell them you oppose SB3 and support hemp businesses in Texas.

2️⃣ Sign petitions – Look for petitions fighting against this bill and add your name.

3️⃣ Share this post – The more people who know, the more voices we have fighting back. 4️⃣ Support local businesses – Now more than ever, show your love to companies like Hiya’s Ballz that bring you the best hemp-infused treats around.

Angry Senator holding SB3 bill up
This bill dramatically restricts the legal hemp market in Texas by banning all cannabinoids except CBD and CBG if not stopped!
