🎉 WE WON (for now): Gov. Abbott Vetoes SB3 – Hemp Stays LEGAL in Texas!

Let’s take a deep, delicious breath together, Texas.Because SB3 is DEAD. Governor Greg Abbott has officially vetoed Senate Bill 3, the bill that threatened to criminalize hemp-derived THC, destroy small businesses, and strip Texans of plant-based wellness options.

Lt Gov Dan Patrick unsuccessfully tried to ban our hemp products
Today, Lt Dan Patrick is somewhere, ugly crying because his outrageous plan to felonize hemp in our state failed.

🧁 What Was SB3?

SB3 aimed to:

  • Ban hemp-derived THC like Delta-8 and compliant Delta-9

  • Wipe out Texas hemp brands overnight

  • Enforce felony-level charges for federally legal products

  • Consolidate the market under the ultra-restricted TCUP program

It wasn’t about safety—it was about power.

🛑 Why Did Gov Abbott Veto SB3?

In a surprising turn, Abbott listened to YOU—the people.

In his veto message, he cited:

  • The bill’s broad overreach

  • The economic impact on small businesses

  • The need for a more measured regulatory approach

This was a major win for farmers, veterans, entrepreneurs, patients, and cake ball connoisseurs alike.

⚠️ But Don’t Get Too Cozy: Special Session May Be Coming

While Abbott vetoed SB3, he also hinted at calling a special legislative session later this year to revisit how the hemp market is regulated in Texas.

So what does that mean?

👀 They’re still watching hemp.💼 Regulations may still change.✊ We have to stay loud, organized, and engaged.

This win bought us time—but the fight continues. Stay plugged in.
